Max Sheltmann
Max Seltmann was a railway worker by profession and worked in Saxony. The family’s mediumistic gift was already evident in his mother. In his case, however, his visionary gifts only began to manifest in later life, following great inner struggles. As he faced much opposition and temptation in this regard, he withdrew more and more into his inner life. He describes how he perceived these inner images and events as follows: ‘There were vivid memories within me, and with astonishing clarity and realism, images and events unfolded before my eyes in such a way that I could have described them for hours on end. At first I was not particularly enthusiastic and did not pay much attention to it, but the same scenes kept unfolding before me again and again, so I decided to write everything down. And once I had written down everything I had experienced, ne scenes began to unfold before my spiritual eyes in place of those I had described. And so the scenes I’d described followed one after another. The same scenes kept appearing before my mind’s eye for so long that I managed to write them down. Then new ones followed.”

This human child (Johanna) was born in 1918. They later discovered that she was blind. When she was two years old, she underwent an operation in Leipzig, which gave her some light. The next year, due to carelessness, she suffered a severe burn on her chest; she hovered between life and death for a long time. As a result, a burn scar representing a large cross, remained on her chest.
The following year she fell from the second floor of the house we lived in, nothing happened to her, she was found playing in the garden.
Then she hurt her eye with a fork, but after three days she was well again. Now it also became apparent that she was mentally abnormal despite her great abilities. She danced like the best dancer and had a gigantic memory for music. A melody she had heard only once, she sometimes sang after months and years, but in her own language, which strangers could not understand. She lost all these abilities after her sterilization, which had to be done according to the law of that time. Yes, from then on, a change took place that changed her condition to her disadvantage, so that later she had to be transferred to an asylum, where she then died at the age of 21.
This is the story dictated to Max Seltmann of the development of young Johanna (Hannie), until she met her Love.
